On Monday, Sept. 9, the Town of Christiansburg will be holding an open house public information session to present and discuss the concept for the proposed park that is currently under design on the former Truman Wilson Property off Peppers Ferry Road. The open house will run from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Christiansburg Recreation Center, 1600 N. Franklin Street, in Multipurpose Room #2. Town staff will attend, along with representatives from Faulconer Construction Company, Hurt & Proffitt and Hill Studio – the group working on the design and layout of the park.
On Thursday, Sept. 12, the Town of Christiansburg is holding a public information session regarding the proposed Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Transportation Alternatives Program funding applications. The following proposed projects will be discussed at the Recreation Center from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
- The Cambria Trail project involves the extension of a 10-foot wide multi-use asphalt trail from the Christiansburg Aquatic Center through the future Amtrak Passenger Rail Station to Cambria Square.
- The Wades Lane/Betty Drive Pedestrian Improvements project involves the installation of sidewalk. It will also include the construction of a 10-foot wide asphalt multi-use trail. The N. Franklin Street Sidewalks project involves installation of sidewalk from Elm Street to Mill Lane.
