Downtown Paving
A portion of the newly paved streets downtown.
Contracted crews will be paving much of the downtown area during Summer 2017, as well as portions of Depot Street and West Main Street.

Beginning the week of May 22, crews will start on Depot Street, paving between Lester Street and Roanoke Street. They’ll then move to the downtown area, paving Main Street, between Roanoke Street and the west end of Downtown Square, and North Franklin Street, between First Street and Commerce Street. Lastly, they’ll pave West Main Street, between Radford Street and Moose Drive.

This schedule is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Work will occur during daylight hours, and while lane closures and detours will be put in place for through traffic, business access will be available.

The paving of Main Street and North Franklin Street is being funded out of the Town's general fund, while the paving of Depot Street and West Main Street is being funded by the Virginia Department of Transportation's Primary Extension Paving Program.
