Christiansburg Bus Service
It's convenient and affordable to travel around Christiansburg and connect to Blacksburg via its three bus routes:

The Explorer serves Christiansburg’s Downtown Central Business District, the NRV Mall area, Hubble & Electric Road area, the Falling Branch Park & Ride, and surrounding neighborhoods.

The Go Anywhere! Christiansburg route requires advance reservations and will provide service from any place in Christiansburg to any destination within Christiansburg. To reserve a trip on the Go Anywhere! Christiansburg route call 540-443-7111, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.  You can even make same day reservations!  Just remember that reservations are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis so advance recommendations are recommended.

The Two Town Trolley provides your connection between Blacksburg and Christiansburg.  This route is considered an express service between the two towns, so there are limited stops.  The stops are strategically located to provide easy connections on each end of the route.

Additional Options - Get there with a "Detour"
The Explorer can also be "detoured" away from the route for a limited length of time/distance.

If you live near the Explorer route, but not quite close enough to walk to the closest stop, a "detour" can be pre-arranged and our staff will work with you to find the right spot for you to board the bus.

For example: Do you live at Wheatland Hills, The Villa's or Red Oak Trailer Park? Or are you looking to get to Wade's, the Library, or Montgomery County Social Services?  We can detour to all these locations and more, call 540-443-7111 for more information.

Call 540-443-7111 for more information. These changes will enhance our ability to serve you, our customer, more efficiently.

Megabus
Looking to go a little further than the New River Valley or Roanoke?

Megabus has expanded its service to offer a direct route from Knoxville, TN to Washington, DC for as little as $1/day.  Three stops will be made each day in Christiansburg at the park and ride lot at Exit 118A -- meaning you can step on a bus in town and arrive in Knoxville or D.C. just a few hours later!

The estimated time of arrival in Christiansburg for northbound buses (traveling to DC) is 1:20p.m.; 5:20p.m.; and 3:10a.m. and for southbound buses (traveling to Knoxville) is 12:05p.m.; 4:05p.m.; and 1:15a.m. daily.

Bus rides to Washington, D.C. can also be used to connect to other Megabus routes across the northeast.

So what is Megabus?

According to their website (http://us.megabus.com), Megabus.com is the first, low-cost, express bus service to offer city-to-city travel for as low as $1 via the internet.  Prices always start at $1 and go up as the travel date approaches.  Since launching in April 2006, megabus.com has served more than 7 million passengers throughout nearly 50 major cities in the midwest and northeast of the U.S. and Canada.

Their clean, comfortable, and well-maintained motorcoaches offer free wi-fi, at-seat plug-ins, panoramic windows, and a green alternative way to travel.

Tickets must be purchased online; visit the Megabus website to book your trip today!
