Customer Service
Customer Service investigates resident and business community issues regarding Town systems (water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and streets) and Town Code.

Land Development
Land Development monitors the development process from initial plan review through construction and inspections. With assistance from the Planning and Building Officials departments, engineering plans are reviewed for compliance with state health and environmental regulations and with town code, subdivision ordinance, and development standards.

Engineering Inspections
Engineering Inspections conducts inspections of capitol improvement and private land development construction projects for plan and regulatory compliance. Inspection of Public Improvements include:
  • Drainage
  • Erosion and Sediment Control
  • Stormwater
  • Streets
  • Town Facilities
  • Wastewater Collection
  • Wastewater Treatment
  • Water Distribution
  • Water Storage

Design Services
Design Services are involved with preparation of plans, specifications, and project management of public improvement projects including street, water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage systems.

Construction Administration
Construction Administration oversees bidding and construction administration of public improvement capital projects.

Regulatory Compliance
Regulatory Compliance oversees Town systems for compliance with state regulations, including:
  • Erosion / Sediment Control - Department of Conservation and Recreation

  • Sanitary Sewer System – Virginia Department of Environmental Quality

    Stormwater Quality - Department of Conservation and Recreation

    Water Distribution System - Virginia Department of Health
