  1. The Great Christiansburg Easter Egg Hunt

    April 20, 2019, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

    **Please arrive early to make sure your child is able to get their age-group wristband before the hunt begins.** The Kiwanis Club of Christiansburg and the Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Department are teaming up for this year's Great Christiansburg Easter Egg Hunt! Please bring your own baskets and arrive early to claim your spot for your hunt area. Children will hunt for eggs in age groups at the following times: (PLEASE NOTE HUNT TIMES HAVE CHANGED) Ages 3-5: 10:20 a.m. Ages 6-8: 10:35 a.m. Ages 9-12: 10:50 a.m. Ages under 3: 11:05 a.m. Your child must hunt in their age group. There will be prizes and a raffle at the end of the event. Photos with the Easter Bunny will be available for $1.

    Join us on Friday, April 26, from 6-8 p.m. on Hickok Street to dance under the lights! Indian Run String Band will be performing, with appearances by the Junior Appalachian Musicians (JAM). There will be square dancing, lawn games and food trucks at this free event, sponsored by the Town and Downtown Christiansburg Inc.

    Come learn about your local government over coffee! The Town's police department will be the main topic of discussion, with patrol officers in attendance to discuss the life and duties of law enforcement personnel. Coffee with the Mayor is a monthly series aimed at generating conversations between Town staff, Town Council and residents. Complimentary coffee will be provided.

    Bring your unused or expired medication to CVS (550 N. Franklin Street) on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in order to dispose of it safely. The Christiansburg Police Department is partnering with the DEA to sponsor this event.
