FY 17-18 Annual Paving and Primary Extension Paving

SECTION I: INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS
1. The Town of Christiansburg (Town) is soliciting sealed Bids for the goods or services specified below and in accordance with all SECTIONS of this Invitation for Bid (IFB).
2. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 3:00 pm, local prevailing time, at the Christiansburg Town Hall in the Administrative Conference Room, located at 100 East Main Street, Christiansburg, VA, 24073. At which time, a description and a map of the area to be paved will be
provided. The Town will issue such Addenda, as Town considers necessary in response to questions arising at the meeting no later than Monday, February 19, 2018, at 5:00 pm, local prevailing time, and emailed to all
parties recorded by the Purchasing Coordinator as having attended the Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting. Offerors are cautioned that any written, electronic, or oral representations made by any Town representative or other person that appear to change materially any portion of the solicitation shall not be relied upon unless
subsequently ratified by a written amendment to this solicitation issued by the Purchasing Department.
3. All Sealed Bids shall be submitted by 3:00 P.M., EST, prevailing time, on Thursday, March 1, 2018. Bids should be mailed or hand delivered. Sealed Bids may be delivered to the attention of Kim Widrig at the Town of Christiansburg Purchasing Office, 100 East Main Street, Christiansburg, VA 24073. It is the
bidder’s responsibility to confirm that all bids are received by the Town prior to the time stated above.
4. Delivered Bids must be marked “Sealed Bid Response – IFB # ENG-18-0030” on the outside of the
envelope and must be marked to the attention of Kim Widrig.
5. Responses should be signed on page 2 of this document.
6. Responses must be submitted on the bid form in this proposal, Attachment A, and any provided attachments.
7. A Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid is required.
8. Bids received after the deadline will not be accepted.
9. The Bidder must provide all exceptions to this Invitation for Bid in writing, to be included with the Bid.
