Due to recent weather conditions and the associated difficulty reading water meters, the Town of Christiansburg will be estimating water usage for the March water and sanitary sewer bill. The amount billed on your January utility bill for water used in October and November will be used as the estimate for the March billing (December and January usage). The Town will resume actual readings in April and all accounts will be adjusted accordingly on the May billing. The Town appreciates your understanding of this situation.

The Town of Christiansburg is studying the possibility of adopting its own local historic district(s) – a zoning overlay type – and adoption of additional regulations into the Zoning Ordinance. FAQ: Who is responsible for the removal of snow and ice from sidewalks?

Per Town Code Section 25-12, it is the responsibility of the occupant or property owner of any property in Town which has a sidewalk abutting on the property to have all snow removed from the sidewalk within 24 hours after plowing of the street has been completed. The same obligation shall exist with respect to ice or sleet on sidewalk. If the owner of the property cannot be found, the Town Manager shall have the sidewalk cleaned at the owner’s expense.

Registration for baseball/softball ends this Friday. Registration fees: $45 town-residents/$55 non-residents(that attend Christiansburg schools). Teeball registration fees: $40 town-residents/$50 non-residents(that attend Christiansburg schools). Please register before Friday to avoid the $20 late fee.
